Tempe Knee Calendar
Tempe gives you familiar ways to check your knee
This page shows how to track knee soreness in Tempe and where to get help nearby. A regular walk, ride or court session gives you a fair way to compare days.
Use the same activity, then note stops, swelling and next-morning soreness. You don't need to finish the whole outing when the knee has had enough.
A familiar Tempe activity gives you a fair comparison
The loop around Tempe Town Lake is about five miles, but one fixed part is enough. Use the same distance at a similar time of day, especially during the hot months.
Cycling or a regular session at Kiwanis Park can work just as well. Notice starting, stopping, turning and stepping down, then check the next day's soreness.
One easy day doesn't count for much if two rough days follow it. Stop when the knee feels unsteady, sharply sore or more swollen.
When soreness won't settle, the Chandler clinic is nearby
The nearest listed clinic is QC Kinetix (Chandler), 1100 S. Dobson Rd., Suite 210, Chandler, AZ 85286. McClintock Road becomes Dobson Road at the Chandler line, keeping much of the trip on one street.
From Warner Ranch, Alta Mira or the Kyrene corridor, the off-peak drive is about five miles and ten to twelve minutes, while Central Tempe is about fifteen to seventeen minutes away. Downtown and ASU take roughly eighteen to twenty minutes off-peak.
At that clinic, regenerative treatment may include PRP made from your blood and placed into the knee without surgery. Its medical providers are the people who examine the knee and explain the available care.
Take dates from earlier procedures and any surgery timing already being discussed. You'll save another trip by asking about visits, cost and recovery before choosing care.
A hospital is the right place for urgent knee trouble
HonorHealth Tempe Medical Center on South Mill Avenue has an emergency department for urgent problems. Fever with a hot, very swollen knee isn't something to save for an office visit.
Go for prompt care after a deforming injury, sudden inability to bear weight or fast worsening after a procedure. A shorter drive shouldn't keep you from the care the injury needs.

A 2021 JAMA review of hip and knee osteoarthritis places intra-articular steroid injections as providing SHORT-TERM pain relief within a management model whose cornerstones are exercise, weight loss if appropriate and education, complemented by topical or oral NSAIDs, with joint replacement reserved for advanced symptoms and structural damage.

A meta-analysis found ipsilateral intra-articular corticosteroid injection within 3 months BEFORE joint arthroplasty was associated with increased periprosthetic joint infection risk, and the authors recommend against performing arthroplasty on a joint injected within that window - while injections given at any time overall showed no such association.

If the soreness won't settle, talk it over
QC Kinetix calls the people who examine your knee its medical providers. They can discuss regenerative treatments, including PRP made from your blood at the clinic and placed into the knee without surgery.
Bring earlier procedure dates, the task you want back and any surgery timing already discussed. You'll have the facts close at hand when you talk.
